Yahoo hasn’t been prominent in the search industry in quite some time, a departure from the days when Yahoo search was battling for search supremacy with the likes of Google, but now it appears that the company is getting back in the game.
Yahoo, who was the first big website to construct a deep search indexing of websites, posted on Twitter a few weeks ago that they would be making search cool again: “Just popping in to remind everyone that we did search before it was cool. BRB making it cool again.”
Yahoo Directory launched back in January 0f 1994, but it was eventually shut down in 2014. Back in 2003 Yahoo began to craw the web by utilizing it’s own web crawler, so there is a long history of Yahoo’s works within the search space.
